Judith and Holofernes is a one act play. The story takes place inside the tent of General Holofernes, whose army is besieging the Israelite city of Bethulia. The Bethulians are exhausted after a long siege and on the verge of surrender. Holofernes, a thug and a lecher, has just learned that the Assyrian King, Nebuchadnezzar, has become enthralled with the Mesopotamian Me-too movement and demands that his generals treat all women with proper respect.
Judith arrives with her maid, intent on seducing Holofernes so that she can cut off his head and rally the city to continue resisting the Assyrians. Holofernes is immediately smitten by her beauty but is convinced she is a spy sent by his enemies in the royal court to discredit him. A battle of wits ensues. Holofernes, the ultimate horndog, is determined to go against his own nature and resist the allure of the oh so willing Judith. Meanwhile, Judith, a woman used to having her way with men, grows increasingly frustrated as the general she is determined to seduce and kill in order to save her city stubbornly refuses to succumb to her charms.
